Last night the Florida Gators smashed the "sure thing," undefeated and arrogant Ohio State Buckeyes in the college football national championship game, 5 million to 14. Or something like that.
No, we didn't break our promise and sell your info to a sports enthusiasts' list. So what in the world does college football have to do with business and working from home$%: A lot, really, if you can picture it with me...
Anybody could have looked in the faces of the Ohio State team early in the game when they fell behind, and told you they were going to lose.
The Florida players, on the other hand, got hold of perhaps the most important success principle in our universe: MOMENTUM.
That's right: momentum...emotional momentum. It will make you a winner, or destroy you. Once the Florida Gators got rolling last night, their emotional momentum turned into an invincible force. They knew they were going to win. And as the game progressed, they seemed to feed off of each other, off of the crowd, even off of the Ohio State players.
What separates people like Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, and other winners in business is the same thing that separated the Florida football team from the Ohio State team last night. They have forward moving, winning emotional momentum. When business winners play, they know they're going to win, too.
So what is the state of your emotional momentum$%:
Maybe you're successful at your job, already a winner...but ready for new challenges, and ready to carry that emotional momentum forward to a new level of success and joy in your life.
Or, maybe you're at a job that you haven't liked for years, and are never quite able to pay all the bills.
Whatever the case is for you, whether you have winning momentum and are ready to take it to a higher level, or losing momentum that's causing stress, you need to reach deep and find the courage to direct your emotional momentum towards new successes in life.
The Gators versus the Ohio State Buckeyes, after all, is only a game. What we're talking about here is your life. And once the clock ticks out on that, it's over. There's no next year, no new recruiting class, nothing.
